Samantha Kang

Samantha Kang serves as our part-time Coordinator of Children's Ministries, with leadership of Children's Chapel, Common Hour programs for grades K-5, and Wednesday evening children's activities; coordination with Deke Polifka and the Junior Choir, and with Joyce Polifka and the Wee Singers; and cultivating family community.

Samantha is a mother of two, with experience teaching kindergarten and 3rd grade in Louisiana as well an after-school Attic Greek class in Virginia. She has also led VBS, pre-baptism classes, and Sunday School at a variety of churches and Christian camps throughout the country. Sam holds a BA and an MA in Religion (with a primary focus on the intersection between philosophy and Christian thought) and is in the process of completing her PhD in Religious Studies from UC, Santa Barbara. She is currently teaching a course in the Religion department at Washington & Lee, but has taken a temporary leave of absence from her other job as a flight attendant to focus on children’s ministry at St Paul’s.
