Joyce Polifka
Joyce has the privilege of making music (and having tons of fun) with some of Saint Paul’s youngest parishioners and friends! She plans and teaches weekly music classes for the Wee Singers and organizes monthly Sunday music events for young families. She also assists in Children’s Chapel with music preparation and instruction and steps in from time to time to help with the Junior Choir.
When not at Saint Paul’s, Joyce keeps busy with her home piano studio (over 40 students at last count!), accompanying and collaborating as a pianist in the Charlottesville area, and serving in various leadership roles through the Charlottesville Music Teachers Association.
Joyce was born and raised in New Jersey, received degrees in Choral Music Education and Piano from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, then lived out west for a bit. During that time, she was on the Piano Faculty at Colorado College and served as the Assistant for Children’s Music and Worship at Grace and Saint Stephens Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs, CO. She and her family moved to Charlottesville in 2018 and are thrilled to be part of the Saint Paul’s Community.
